Blackford County schools have met or exceeded Indiana state averages and goals in many areas such as student performance, student growth, student improvement, and graduation rate. We’re doing well, and we continue to strive for improvement.

ACADEMIC FOCUS

Blackford County Schools continues to focus on improving student test scores with a variety of assessments geared to monitor student success. In a number of areas, our students have outperformed the state average, yet we strive to improve.

We are proud to offer a wide selection of curricular options for students, including high ability programming, advanced placement courses, 18 dual/college credit courses, JROTC, band, choir, theater arts, and career and technical education courses.

State-of-the-art technology enhances the learning process at Blackford County Schools. 1:1 E-learning opportunities, computer labs, and software geared to supporting student achievement gives BCS an edge in the tech-savvy 21st century.

FINE ARTS AND EXTRACURRICULARS

We offer an award-winning fine arts program. Elementary students through high school have the opportunity to participate in art, music, and band.

After-school extracurricular activities abound at Blackford County Schools. Students can participate in a wide variety of challenging and fun age-appropriate activities such as academic teams and clubs, service organizations, sports, and the arts.
