Since there is a direct correlation between good nutrition and student success, our Food Services Department works hard to provide our students highly nutritious meals at a minimum cost. Protein rich and whole grain foods, low fat white milk, and a variety of vegetables and fruits helps give BCS students the energy boost they need, both physically and mentally, to do their best every day.

WE SERVE BREAKFAST!

Mornings can be really crazy! The alarm doesn’t go off… The kids don’t want to get up... There’s no time to eat breakfast before the bus comes... or they’re just not ready to eat. If this sounds like your house, we have good news for you:

We serve breakfast at all of our Blackford County schools!

School breakfast will give your child a healthy start to the day. A nutritious breakfast helps students be more alert so they can learn more in class. Breakfast has vitamins and nutrients for a strong and healthy body.

Breakfast at school is currently free, thanks to the CEP Program.

COMMUNITY ELIGIBILITY PROVISION

Dear Parent or Guardian:

We are pleased to inform you that BLACKFORD COUNTY SCHOOLS will be implementing the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) for meals served on the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program for the 2024-2025 school year.

 All students enrolled at Blackford Jr. Sr. High School, Blackford Intermediate School, and Blackford Primary School, are eligible to receive a healthy breakfast and lunch at school at no charge each day of the 2024-2025 school year. No further action is required of you. Your child(ren) will be able to participate in these meal programs without having to pay a fee or submit an application.
