Perseverance, determination, and grit- These were just a few of the words used to describe the 2023 Jennerjahn Most Improved Students who were honored for their accomplishments last night.
This year's Most Improved Students include: Evelyn Reasoner, 2nd grade, BPS; Liam Fowler, 3rd grade, Bentley Miller, 4th grade, Raelyn Slusher, 5th grade, Bentley Hester, 6th grade, BIS; Anna Ludwig, 7th grade, and Rylan Rose, 8th grade, BJSHS.
This is the 19th year for the Jennerjahn Most Improved Student Awards celebration, which was created by Ruth Jennerjahn and her late husband, Brian, to honor hard-working students in grades 2-8 who might not be at the top of the class, but deserve recognition for their achievement during the school year. To determine these special individuals, teachers and principals review the student's academic achievement, grades, testing data, ISTEP scores, attendance, conduct, and effort .
During the event, principals and teachers share a bit about each of the students and what made them the Most Improved Student in their grade. The Jennerjahn family very kindly treats the student and their family to dinner, as well as a gift for the student.
Congratulations to the 2023 Jennerjahn Most Improved Students, keep up the good work!
