Blackford County Schools would like to welcome two new assistant principals to the staff. Sarah Price and Chaz Gabriel were approved by the school board during its meeting Tuesday evening. The two new assistant principals will begin duties at the end of the 2022-2023 school year. Sarah Price will work with Principal Craig Campbell at Blackford Primary School, while Chaz Gabriel will join Principal Jim Fox and his team at Blackford Intermediate School.
Sarah Price returns to Blackford County Schools as a Bruin. She graduated from Blackford High School before obtaining her Bachelors of Science in Early Childhood Education from Ball State University. She went on to get her Masters of Arts in District Administration - Director of Special Needs at BSU.
During her career in education, Sarah has served as a Special Education teacher, assistant principal and Assistant Director of the Delaware-Blackford Special Ed Cooperative.
“Sarah brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to us,” said Campbell. “We are excited that she will be joining us and be back home.”
Sarah is the daughter of former BCS teacher Pete Wiggins and wife Darlene. She and her husband, Andy, reside in Blackford County. They are parents to Kaden, a 7th grade student at BJSHS.
In her spare time, Sarah enjoys watching Kaden play baseball.
Chaz Gabriel joins BCS from Hazel Dell Elementary School in Noblesville, where he taught 4th and 5th grade. He obtained his Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Butler University and his Master of Science in Education Leadership and Policy Studies from Purdue University.
Chaz and his wife, Karlie, are the parents of Cecilia, who will soon turn one month old this week. The family currently resides in Kokomo.
When he isn’t working, Chaz loves to hike and travel. A basketball fan, Chaz enjoys playing basketball for fun, as well as cheering on the Butler Bulldogs and Indiana Pacers.
