Cracked Chromebook screen

Uh-oh, your student accidentally dropped and broke the screen of their school-issued Chromebook. Now what?

Repairs to a Blackford County Schools Chromebook could be costly. If it’s an Elementary Chromebook, it’s going to cost $115 to repair. If it’s one of the new BJSHS Chromebooks, the cost is up to $185.

We don’t want to pass these full costs onto parents. Beginning this school year, BCS is offering Chromebook insurance for $32 per device for the 24-25 school year.

The best part? Regular wear and tear, as well as something totally unforeseen happening such as loss or theft; it’s all covered by insurance. There are no deductibles or hidden fees and claims can easily be made with no waiting period.

Parents/Guardians will be able to sign up for Chromebook insurance until October 1. Coverage is provided through July 31, 2025.

For those who opt in on the coverage, even if your student’s Chromebook is being repaired and they have a loaner, the insurance covers the loaner as well.

Sign up for Chromebook insurance online easily by clicking on the QR Code or by visiting schooldevicecoverage.com, or if you prefer, print the registration and send your $32 payment via mail.

Don’t wait for bad, costly news about your student’s Chromebook, sign up for insurance today!
