What's better than a good book? Finding a cozy place to read it! Students in Mrs. Kari Crouse's class at Blackford Intermediate took advantage of some quiet time during the Read Across America celebration. They even had Mrs. Bauer and Mr. Rheinhart as special guest readers!
It's a parade of characters (wacky and otherwise) at Montpelier School this week as students celebrate Read Across America! Students and teachers dressed up as their favorite book characters and then got Wacky for Wednesday!

Blackford Spotlight: Ms. Heidi Palmer's 6th grade ELA/Social Studies class at BIS also got in on the Read Across America fun today. Students brought in snacks and a good book. Taylor University student-teacher Taylor Marshall participated by reading to the students.

Check out the BJSHS Choir and Band in concert Wednesday evening, March 3. The JH Choir and band kicks off the performance at 6 p.m. in the main gym, followed by our 9-12 musicians.

Students in Mrs. Yvette Rouch's classes at BJSHS were able to observe medical procedures in VR (Virtual Reality), with some help from Mr. Tobyas from Ball State University, using the Google Expeditions hardware.

There was some fun-filled pig-kissing going on at MES on Friday afternoon. To celebrate the successful completion of the school's fundraiser, Principal Jim Fox and teachers Lee Adrianson and Markus Clancy each smooched a little pig to the delight of the student body.

The Read Across America program has officially kicked off in Ms. Julia Duncan's 2nd grade classroom at Montpelier School this morning. According to Mrs. Duncan, students are working on identifying the key details of a beginning, middle, and end of a story. Students were working on writing the beginning, middle, and end of the Cat and the Hat. They are so excited for the week!

Cubs spread the ❤️
Northside has been working hard to show support and kindness to two groups: military members across the globe and children in foster care across the country. Students made 599 pieces of art and letters to spread this love across the world.

Warmer temps this week have allowed the Kodiaks in Mrs. Kylee Redford's class at Montpelier Elementary a chance to go outside for recess. According to Mrs. Redford, it's sidewalk chalk for the win!
