It's been an interesting week at BJSHS! Mrs. Yvette Rouch's Health Careers class learned to use a Doppler ultrasound to find the blood flow through vessels and measure the ankle brachial index. ABI is used to help diagnose peripheral artery disease.

Any 8th-11th grade girls interested in playing volleyball next year need to stop by Mrs. Shipley's (room 212) before Monday, April 5th to pick up a workout/practice schedule for the spring.
During the last week of April BJSHS will have an altered schedule.
Unified track is in need of general education partners to join the team. Right now we do not have enough for every athlete to be in one event. Please contact Mrs. Wallace if you're interested in participating!

Mark your calendars! The BJSHS Class of 2021 Graduation ceremony will take place on Sat., May 22 at 7 p.m. at the Football Stadium. Inclement weather on Saturday will postpone graduation until Sunday at 1 p.m. (If poor weather persists, graduation time will be moved to 7 p.m.)
During last night's school board meeting, BJSHS senior Layla Pennington was honored for being the 2021 Lilly Community Scholarship recipient. Layla is the daughter of Jake and Heather Pennington. She told board members that she plans to attend Butler University in the fall to study pharmacology.
She is joined in the photo by Troy Kaufman, board vice-president, and Chad Yencer, superintendent.

BJSHS is offering summer school that will be held at BIS. This is in-person summer school & students are required to attend in-person at the scheduled times & dates. For more information, contact Mrs. J-H & Mrs. Shockey in the Guidance Office. Return completed form by 4/16.
There will be a mandatory BHS Men's Golf Callout Meeting on Wednesday, March 17th at 7:45 am, in the Front Office Conference Room.
(2 of 2) You will warm up stunts & work with your tryout group from 5:45-6:15 and then official tryouts start at 6:15. EVERYONE who makes the squads will still have a parent meeting on Wednesday, March 31st!!
(1 of 2) Cheerleading tryouts have been postponed until Monday, March 29th from 5:45-8:30 pm, for the high school squad only. Junior high cheerleading tryouts will be held on Tuesday, March 16th 6-7:30 and Wednesday, March 17th, 5:45-until completed.

2021 Bruins Basketball Regional Champions shirts are on sale now. Pre-sale orders will be taken Monday, March 15th 3:30-5 pm AND Tuesday, March 16th 7 am-Noon at Door 1. All orders are due by Noon on Tuesday.
Bruin Pride Marching Band Callout Meeting will occur on March 16th at 6 pm in the Band Room. It is a mandatory meeting for all those interested in participating in next year's marching band. A parent MUST be present with you!

Students in Stacey Gill's Honors Eng. 10 class recently learned about the Google Docs citation tool and the citation format feature in Google Scholar from BCS Tech Coach Karen Bergdoll. According to Bergdoll, the feature helps with accuracy and composition of research papers.
